03:33 AM
It always starts with that one weird noise you try to ignore. A scratch behind the drywall. A cold draft in a room with no open windows. A floorboard groaning like someone’s standing right behind you. We’re all complete horror nerds in DITCH TH3 GLITCH, so honestly, it was only a matter of time before something followed us home into the studio.
03:33 AM takes its vibe straight from The Conjuring - that slow, suffocating dread where a house goes from "just creepy" to full-blown nightmare.
Musically, we dragged everything down into a much darker, slower space. We loaded up on Portishead, Massive Attack, and Tricky reference points: heavy sub-bass, broken beats, empty space, and that nasty, paranoid feeling that something is moving just out of sight.
The whole trinity is built as one single, unbroken descent. The end of each track bleeds right into the next, like a bad night that just keeps getting worse:
MERGE // THREE KNOCKS
Merge went straight for the start of the movie - the infestation. No cheap jump scares, no blood on the walls yet. Just three knocks in the dark that make you question your own sanity. Three Knocks sits right in that ugly space before the nightmare officially starts. But as the low-end swells and the pressure builds, the walls give out - and the noise spills straight into Ditch's lap.
DITCH // THREE LINES OF IRON
Picking up right where Merge leaves him breathing heavy, Ditch drags us down into the basement. Inspired by that awful cellar sequence, Three Lines of Iron is the desperate fight back. You’re building barricades and trying to hold off whatever is taking over from the inside. But Ditch gets crushed - and as his track breaks down in total defeat, Glitch steps right out of the wreckage.
GLITCH // POSSESSION
Glitch takes the nightmare to its final, most suffocating conclusion: losing complete control. Possession isn't about fighting back anymore - it’s about your own flesh becoming a cage. You're trapped on the inside behind your own eyes, completely helpless while something else moves your hands, speaks with your voice, and takes the wheel. If Merge is the warning sign and Ditch is the failed fight, Glitch is the absolute terror of being a passenger in your own body.
Of course, test-running these tracks had consequences. Ditch made the absolute rookie mistake of going to sleep with an early mix of Three Knocks on loop. Around 3:30 AM, he bolted upright in a cold sweat, dead convinced his apartment was infested by something demonic.
Merge has never looked happier.
MERGE“Three Knocks worked exactly as intended,” he said, not even trying to hide the smirk.
Throw on your headphones, turn off the lights, and crank it up. Just... if you hear knocking, don't assume it's coming from the speakers.
Good night, sleep tight, don’t let the demon’s bite.
