QUESTIONABLE HALLOWEEN COSTUMES
Halloween seemed simple enough. One image. Three costumes. What could possibly go wrong? Quite a lot, apparently. Glitch had a clear request: Something Purge-inspired. Creepy. A little sci-fi. What she actually got looks like Jason Voorhees survived the apocalypse, joined Fallout, and discovered hot pink. Glitch stares at the result.
GLITCH“What the fuck am I supposed to be?”
Nobody has an answer. Merge had been even more specific: Star Trek officer. He looks down at himself. Velvet. Brocade. High collar. A massive red gemstone. He looks less like he serves aboard the Enterprise and more like he owns a castle in Transylvania.
MERGE“This is not Star Trek.”
Ditch is trying very hard not to laugh. Merge turns on him.
MERGE“And what, exactly, were you supposed to be?”
Glitch looks over. Then at the bunny ears. Then at the bow tie. Then considerably further down. A brief silence.
GLITCH“Oh,” Glitch says. “It screwed up yours too.”
Ditch looks confused.
DITCH“No.”
Another silence.
DITCH“I got exactly what I wanted.”
Glitch and Merge sigh in unison. Of course he did.

THE PROMPT
For the record, this was the brilliant creative direction given to ChatGPT:
• Glitch: Purge-inspired mask, but make it futuristic and sci-fi. • Merge: Star Trek officer. Sleek. Serious. Space command. • Ditch: Playboy Bunny. Bunny ears, bow tie, cuffs, suspenders. No shirt.
In retrospect, perhaps the AI wasn’t the problem. Sometimes a prompt is misunderstood. Sometimes the image generator takes a creative detour nobody asked for. And sometimes it follows instructions perfectly—exposing the person who wrote them.

Happy Halloween from DITCH TH3 GLITCH. (Two prompt failures. One disturbingly accurate result.) And since questionable decisions deserve a soundtrack...
Press play. We clearly can’t be trusted with anything else.
